A ship carrying 3,900 metric tonnes of cooking gas arrived in Sri Lanka on October 18. Litro Gas Lanka has announced that another shipment carrying the same quantity is expected to arrive on October 22.
Litro Gas Lanka has stated that the arrival of new gas shipments is expected to help restore cooking gas distribution to normal levels. The company also announced that measures are being expedited to ensure an uninterrupted supply of gas to consumers across the country.
The information was disclosed in a special statement issued on Tuesday, October 20, regarding the arrival of new gas shipments and the current distribution situation.
Ship Arrives with 3,900 Metric Tonnes of Gas
A ship carrying 3,900 metric tonnes of cooking gas arrived in Sri Lanka on October 18. Unloading operations are currently underway.
Meanwhile, Litro Gas Lanka stated that a fourth ship carrying a further 3,900 metric tonnes of gas is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka on Thursday, October 22.
The continued arrival of gas shipments is expected to help maintain a stable gas supply chain and reduce potential shortages in the market.
Measures to Ensure Gas Distribution Across the Country
The company stated that precautionary measures have been taken to prevent cooking gas shortages in any part of the country.
Litro Gas Lanka is focusing on maintaining sufficient gas stocks and distributing supplies according to consumer demand.
However, the arrival of new shipments alone does not guarantee that gas will immediately be available at every sales outlet. Availability depends on unloading operations, existing stocks and regional distribution.
Therefore, consumers planning to purchase cooking gas are advised to check current availability with their nearest authorised distributors.
